Round 11: Vikings vs Grafton Redmen

The Vikings 94-12 win over the Grafton Redmen team at Oxley Oval showed the difference between both ends of the 2022 UMNCRU competition table. The Vikings remain undefeated and Grafton are yet to record a win.

The Viking First XV scored 14 tries in the rout with front rower Tyla Murvai scoring four before halftime. Debutant winger Luke Banks crossed for a hat trick while both Harry Sargent and Agapei Eukaliti scored twice. Oscar, Jono Tunks and Matt Fieldsend rounded out the try scorers.

Coach Hamish was obviously pleased with Banks’ debut scoring feats having previously given him a taste of senior football at the Armidale Knockout in pre-season but he will also be pleased with Eukaliti’s performance. He has been in a rich vein of form, especially over the past month, being in the top one or two performers each week. He was voted Players Player by his teammates for his Grafton game.

Under 18’s triumphed 36-0 while the Under 14’s scored a bonus point 4 tries in their 73-26 loss. Grafton are not fielding teams in reserve Grade or Under 16’s this season.
